The 2024 Paris Olympics are about to begin and their schedule is packed with sporting events. Here's everything you need to know about the start and finish of this summer's Olympics.
The Olympic Games officially open in Paris on Friday evening, July 26, and continue until Sunday, August 11, although some team events began on July 24. The opening ceremony on July 26 will take place on the river Seine, which flows through Paris, for example. The closing ceremony, which includes a parade of flags and athletes, will take place on August 11.

Opening ceremony



The opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics is unique. Organizers say the July 26 event will be the first Olympic opening ceremony to be held outside a stadium. Tokyo's opening ceremony was last held in a mostly empty stadium due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
