Hamas' one senior leader has died in Iran

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps of Iran released a statement early on Wednesday confirming the death of prominent Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran.

On Wednesday morning local time, the IRGC-affiliated media outlet Tasnim News released a statement declaring Haniyeh's passing in Tehran. The killing was also covered by CNN, the Associated Press, and the New York Times.

The 62-year-old Haniyeh oversaw the political wing of Hamas. The late 1980s saw him enlist in the militant group.

The Hamas-affiliated Shehab news agency released a statement in which the group claimed that Haniyeh was killed by Israel in a "treacherous" attack on his Tehran home.

Previously, Haniyeh lived in exile in Qatar. Several reports state that he had gone to Tehran to witness the inauguration of Iran's new president, Masoud Pezeshkian.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, was also met by Haniyeh on Tuesday, according to The Times.

Neither side took immediate credit for the murder.

The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, promised in October to exact "mighty vengeance" on Hamas and its leaders for their October 7 attack on Israel, which resulted in the deaths of about 1,200 people and the kidnapping of about 250 more.

Prosecutor Karim Khan of the International Criminal Court declared in a statement in May that he would pursue an arrest warrant for Haniyeh. On October 7, Khan charged Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, and Mohammed Deif, the head of Hamas' military wing, with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The Israeli military told CNN that they "don't respond to reports in the foreign media" when they were contacted for comment on reports in Iranian state media. Although they were aware of the reports, a White House representative told the outlet they would not comment.

When Business Insider asked for comments, spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces and the Pentagon did not immediately reply.

Following an Israeli strike on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, Haniyeh's death has been reported. Israel claimed that the top Hezbollah commander was behind a deadly rocket attack that occurred over the weekend in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights.

Ismail Haniyeh

Born in a camp for refugees close to Gaza City, Haniyeh, now sixty-two, joined Hamas in the late 1980s during the First Intifada, or uprising.  Haniyeh advanced through the ranks as Hamas gained power, and in 2004 he was named to a covert "collective leadership" group.
He rose to the position of group chief by 2017; shortly after, the US designated him as a "specially designated global terrorist." He has met with world leaders such as Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and Chinese diplomat Wang Kejian earlier this year.
He has also taken part in peace negotiations with former US President Jimmy Carter over the years. According to Hamas, three of Haniyeh's sons and four of his grandchildren were killed in Israeli airstrikes in April.
Haniyeh, who was based in Qatar, stated at the time that their passing would not have an impact on the ongoing ceasefire and hostage negotiations. "Anyone who believes that by focusing on my children during the bargaining process and prior to reaching an agreement, Hamas will be compelled to compromise on its demands is insane," he declared.

Trump consents to speak with the FBI as a victim following assassination attempt

An FBI official informed reporters on Monday that former President Donald Trump had consented to take part in a victim interview concerning his attempted assassination.
According to an official, the interview with Trump would be comparable to any interview the bureau would perform for any victim of crime, regardless of the circumstances.

Plans were confirmed by Trump on Monday night.

In an interview with Fox News, he stated, "They're coming in on Thursday to see me."
According to the FBI investigation, Thomas Matthew Crooks, the man who attempted assassination, was "highly intelligent," "a loner," with few friends and acquaintances outside of his family, and he had an increasing interest in weapons.

His motivation remains a mystery. According to an official, the FBI has spoken with hundreds of people and asked dozens of businesses for information regarding his online accounts, including his gaming accounts.
According to an official, his search history included looking up information on power plants, mass shootings, and the attempted assassination of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico this year. The FBI disclosed last week that, approximately a week prior to the attack, Crooks had looked up "how far away was Oswald from Kennedy?" about President John F. Kennedy's murder by Lee Harvey Oswald.
Despite discovering a bloodied receipt for the ladder on his body, the FBI discovered that Crooks had not brought it to the Trump rally. The FBI stated that while there was no recorded footage on the drone, it did appear that the thieves had used it prior to the attack.

Only twenty-five to thirty seconds after a local police officer attempted to confront Crooks on the roof, Crooks fired eight rounds. According to NBC News, which cited the FBI and other law enforcement, Crooks pointed his gun at the officer moments before firing, and the officer was helped above the roof line by a colleague.

More than two weeks after the July 13 attempt on Trump's life, an official told reporters during a briefing on Monday that Crooks looked to have meticulously planned the attack ahead of the campaign rally and tried to keep his plans quiet.
Despite the fact that the FBI does not typically give regular updates on ongoing investigations, Deputy Director Paul Abbate of the FBI said on Monday that the agency felt it was important to share this information with the American public. The investigation has been the focus of the bureau's constant efforts.

Referring to Corey Comperatore, a rally-goer who was killed in the attack, Abbate stated, "The entirety of the FBI is committed to uncovering the real facts, the truth about this attack on former President Trump and the murder of Mr. Comperatore and the injury to others as well." There were two more injured.

In an attempt to feed conspiracy theories surrounding the shooting, FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress last week that "there's some question about whether or not it's a bullet or shrapnel" that struck Trump's ear during the assassination attempt.
Running the Pittsburgh office, FBI Agent Kevin Rojek stated on Monday that Trump was hit by a bullet, whole or broken. This statement was consistent with one the bureau released on Friday following Wray's congressional testimony.

Crooks seemed to have "made significant efforts to conceal his activities," according to Rojek.
According to Rojek and another official, Crooks seemed to be "a loner," and there was no proof of any institutionalization or mental health treatment for Crooks.
Because Crooks uses encrypted apps, the FBI has had trouble accessing some of his accounts, according to a bureau official.
FBI official Bobby Wells stated, "Encryption has been a challenge for us here in this investigation."

Erdogan claims that Turkey might go into Israel to support the Palestinians.

Though he did not specify what kind of intervention he was proposing, President Tayyip Erdogan stated on Sunday that Turkey might enter Israel as it had done in the past in both Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh.

Erdogan, a vocal opponent of Israel's Gaza offensive, brought up the subject of that conflict in a speech honoring his nation's defense sector.

"We have to be very strong to stop Israel from doing these ridiculous things to Palestine

Erdogan said at a gathering of his ruling AK Party in his hometown of Rize, "We might do similar to them just like we entered Karabakh, just like we entered Libya."

"There's no reason this can't be done... In the televised speech, Erdogan continued, "We must be strong in order to take these actions.

Representatives of the AK Party did not return calls seeking further information about Erdogan's remarks. Israel refrained from commenting at the time.

The president seemed to be making reference to previous acts taken by Turkey.

Turkey dispatched military personnel to Libya in 2020 to assist the Government of National Accord of Libya, which was acknowledged by the UN.

Turkey supports Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid al-Dbeibah, who is in charge of the Government of National Unity in Tripoli.

"There's no reason this can't be done... In the televised speech, Erdogan continued, "We must be strong in order to take these actions.

Although Turkey has denied having any direct involvement in Azerbaijan's military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh, it did declare last year that it was supporting its close ally by employing "all means," including modernization and military training.

Overpopulation

Overpopulation

Introduction:

Overpopulation is a common problem faced by whole world. This is a common cause to many problems in the world that are faced by every country. Overpopulation means more people than the environment or earth can support. More population means more resources needed to make their needs fulfilled. Overpopulation is the problem that almost leads to a number of problems.
The world population is 8 billion. It is more than can be supported by earth. This much population needs about two earths. Population is increasing at a fast rate and it need to be curbed not only to save our resources, earth, environment but everything. Overpopulation is the main problem in developing countries and there are many causes and reasons for this population explosion. Overpopulation in countries that struggle with their economy is a grave social problem and needs to addressed at urgent basis. The rate at which population is growing is concerning. The most populated countries in the world include India at first which topped China last year.

Causes of Overpopulation:

There are many reasons why overpopulation occurs, including high birth rates, low death rates, and migration. Some countries have made progress in addressing overpopulation, but much more needs to be done. We need to focus on educating people about the importance of family planning and providing access to reproductive healthcare. We also need to create economic opportunities for people so that they do not feel the need to have large families.

Unawareness:

Unawareness is a major cause of overpopulation. People do not know about increasing population problems and focus only on giving birth to kids so that these kids can become their helping hands.

Poverty:

Poverty may seem contradictory to overpopulation but it is true that poor people don't care about how many childrens they have because the thought in their minds is that these kids will help them after growing.

Illiteracy:

The literacy rate in developing countries is at its lowest ebb. It means that most of the population of these countries is illiterate and do not know anything about population increase and other social problems that are caused in the result of population increase.

Better medical facilities:

As the time has passed, more and better medical facilities has also played part in population increase. The life expectancy in developing countries was about 40 to 45 years decades ago which has now increased to  60- 65 years.

Early marriages:

Early marriages and especially in rural areas where there is less awareness about increasing population has also greatly added in population.

Effects of overpopulation:

Effect on women health:

Women health is greatly affected by overpopulation. A women can't be a good mother and cannot raise kids that prove to be good citizens of the country if her health is not in good condition.

Effect on agriculture:

More than half of the population in developing countries exercises agriculture. As the population increases, so does the demand for food. However, the amount of land available for agriculture is finite. This puts a strain on agricultural resources and can lead to food shortages. In addition, overpopulation can contribute to environmental degradation, which can further reduce the productivity of agricultural land.

Effects on economy:

More populatIon means more resources needed and it affects the economy of a country. The economic effects of overpopulation are far-reaching. It can lead to lower incomes, higher unemployment, and slower economic growth. It can also make it more difficult for businesses to operate and invest. In some cases, overpopulation can even lead to economic collapse.

Measures:

Awareness:

There should be awareness at a more rigorous level. television ads, campaigns and other methods to curb this explosion of population are the crucial need of the time.

Literacy:

Literate people usually are more thoughtful than illiterates and they care more about the upbringing of kids than the number of kids so they also benefit a country by less number of kids. Education should be compulsory so that people become more aware about population increase.

Family Planning:

Family planning is another significant method to halt population increase. There should be trained doctors that guide people about family planning.

Strict rules about wedding:

There should be strict rules and punishments for people who promote child marriage. There should be no wedding if a girl or boy is not in legal age.

Conclusion

Addressing overpopulation is essential for creating a more sustainable and equitable world. By working together, we can build a future where everyone has the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
